SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT FURTHER LOCKDOWN – NEW YEAR 2021
As you will be aware, the Scottish Government has, once again, temporarily banned our right to worship in our churches.
The Archbishop has expressed his dismay to the clergy at the imposition of these rules and will ask the Bishop’s Conference to seek from the Government clear scientific evidence linking the spread of the virus to church gatherings for worship. Currently, zero scientific evidence has been given and our churches have been kept safe by our courageous and selfless volunteers on a daily basis.
Nevertheless, the Archbishop asks us to cooperate with these rules in the name of the common good and our shared responsibility for our fellow citizens.
As such, Mass will be available at noon in St James’ on 5th, 6th and 7th of January and will cease thereafter until further notice from the Government or the Archbishop.
For confessions, please contact Fr Galbraith directly.
To our volunteers, we say: we trust you!
To everyone, the Lord and his angelic host says: ‘Do not be afraid!’
N.B. The information below is NOT pertinent during the current lockdown.
