Caroline was born and grew up in Kirkcaldy. She was a teacher for thirty years and was latterly the Headteacher of Greyfriars School, in St. Andrews. She has two children and has coordinated the parish children’s liturgy for many years.

At the 11am Mass on Sunday at St. James' during term time a team of catechists, lead by Caroline Nash, provide a time of learning and Christian experience during the early part of Mass (from the beginning of Mass until the offertory).
